| On September 1 1995 Kashima town and Ohno village consolidated
and became Kashima city. |
Kashima city is located 80km east of Tokyo, the capital of
Japan, and that is located the southeast-end of Ibaraki prefecture,and The area
is about 93 square km. Because Kashima city faces the Pacific Ocean and that is
effected by the Japan Current ,It is least temperature-difference between summer
and winter.The average of summer-temperature is about the same as Nagano City's
and The average of winter-temparature is about the same as Kumamoto
City's.So,there is little snowfall. It is a mild oceanic climate throughout
four-seasons.
At present Kashima is well known to people all over the country
as a hometown of Kashima
Antlers. Along the streets of Kashima, flags and pennants are everywhere.
Not only Kashima Stadium, but also the Antlers Clubhouse is attracting people.
So it has enlivened the atmosphere of the city and has been making the city
flourish. On the other hand, the old shinto shrine Kashima Jingu is sitting
solemnly in the precincts surrounded by dense trees. and the god of mertial arts
is worshipped there. |
