The Statue of Tsukahara Bokuden
|

| Bokuden Tsukahara (1489-1571), the founder of new kashima style of fencing, served as an instructor of Shogun Yoshiteru Ashikaga and Ise provincial governor Tomonori Kitabatake. And he has been believed as a master of fencing by many people. The bronze statue of Bokuden was built along the Seseragi street in front of the Kashima Jingu Station. The grave of Bokuden is in Suka where Baikouji once stood, and people who are devoted to fencing visit his grave. 7-minute drive from JR Kashima Jingu Station. |
