| Kashima Fireworks Exhibition (the end of August) |
| 5,000 pieces of fireworks are set off from Kitaura lake. The special sized "Star Mine" fireworks add color to the summer night. |

| Jinko Festival (September 1 to 2) |
| The object of worship of Kashima Shrine enshrined in the main sanctuary moves to the temporary palace. Five floats parade through the city during the festival period. |

| Lantern Festival (September 1) |
| This festival provides the light to the above ritual, Jinko Festival. In this soul-stirring dedicatory event, shrine parishioners hold bamboo poles on which many lanterns are hung, and they throw the lanterns into the bonfire in front of "Rohmon"(a tower gate). |

| Sumo Festival (November 3) |
| This festival has been held at Kashima Shrine from old times, following the ancient legend which says that "Takemikazuchino Ohkami", the god of Kashima Shrine, tried his strength against "Takeminakatano Mikoto" in Izumo. |

| Tree Illumination |
| A new addition to the winter scene of Kashima. An enchanting atmosphere is created by numerous lights on the tree lines along Seseragi Avenue in front of Kashima Jingu Station. |
